OPPRTUNITY FOR GENERAL PRACTITIONERS IN AUSTRALIA »       OPPRTUNITY FOR GENERAL PRACTITIONERS IN AUSTRALIA VICTORIA offering General Practitioners the opportunity to work and live in Australia. We have positions available in country-wide Australia, and specialise in placing GP’s in fully modernised & equipped facilities whilst giving them clinical independence & confidence. Our global medical recruitment drive is to work very closely with you to provide a dedicated support system in getting you in the right medical positions that suits your professional, financial and family needs, thus ensuring a smooth application and registration process. ELIGIBILITY All General Practitioners must meet basic requirements to work in Australia. Eligibility requires the applicant to have undertaken the accredited process for registration in a country approved by the Australian Medical Council (AMC). We shall assist you to determine if your qualifications and experience meet the eligibility requirements. PROFICIENCY An International Medical Graduate & practitioner must satisfy the Australian Medical Council (AMC) requirements through English language proficiency tests or be granted an exemption from taking the International English Language Testing System if an IMG’s secondary education is completed in English. If you’re an IMG and/or a GP from a country where English is not the first language, then the registered medical board of Australia will require you to demonstrate English language proficiency by  providing evidence of having completed training in English or having completed the IELTS examination to the following standards: ·         The applicant must have achieved a minimum score of 7 in each of the four components ·         Alternative English proficiency tests that will be accepted are: o   Completed and obtained an overall pass in the Occupational English Test (OET) with grades A or B only in each of the four components; or o   A pass in the Professional Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) in the United Kingdom; or o   A pass in the New Zealand Registration Examination (NZREX) in New Zealand ·         Results must have been obtained within 2 years prior to applying for registration In addition, all applicants for specialist assessment (including for Area of Need specialist positions) are required to pass the language test or be granted an exemption before commencing AMC examinations. QUALIFICATIONS The MBBS or equivalent, (MB ChB, MD, MB BCh, BM BCh , BM BS, MB BChir) is the primary medical degree required to gain registration. Mutually recognised qualifications The RACGP sets and maintains standards for general practices, and therefore recognises overseas trained doctors with qualifications equivalent to Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or equivalent permitting General Registration & Fellowship ad eundum gradum. Overseas trained doctors who hold the following qualifications are eligible for FRACGP ad eundem gradum whilst working in the Australian general practice setting: ·         The Certificate in Family Practice from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) who have also passed both parts of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination, ·         Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and the Certificate of the Joint Committee on Postgraduate Training for General Practice (JCPTGP) UK, ·         Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (FRNZCGP), ·         Graduates of the Irish college of General Practitioners (ICGP) holding the Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners (MICGP), A Successful completion of the Australian Medical Council (AMC) MCQ examination is required for International Medical Graduates & Practitioners who do not hold these qualifications. We can also fast track for a GP position in a clinic that has been designated ‘Area of Need’ status. This means being eligible to work in an outer metro, inner regional practices or coastal locations due to GPs are the backbone of rural health care, and GPs in rural areas need strong procedural skills. EXPERIENCE A General Practitioner in Australia must register to having at least a minimum of 5 years of experience in General Practice. Working experience in environments similar to that in Australian General Practice will be deemed highly positive by the Medical Board in relation to your experience, and this will deliver a more efficient acceleration in the registration process. REMUNERATION As a qualified GP your pay package will be; ·         Gross billing reward of up to 50%, and ·         Yearly guaranteed Salary Package of AUD$80,000 ADMISSION TO IRCON PROGRAM FOR NURSES WITH DECISION LETTER AND WITHOUT IELTS » Initial Registration Course (Overseas Nurses) IRCON The course is accessible to all overseas Qualified Nurses wishing to nurse in Australia who have been recommended by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency for eligibility. The aim of this course is to assist overseas Qualified Nurses to embrace the knowledge and skills required to work as a nurse in Australia and provide support in the transition from nursing in their country of origin to nursing in Australia. On successful completion of this course students will be eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. The course is made up of 5 weeks of theory and 8 weeks of clinical practice, with the possibility for early exit after the 9th week.ENTRANCE REQUIREMENT:  A letter from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (www.ahpra.gov.au) confirming eligibility to complete an Initial Registration course, including any requirements as stated within the letter from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia or have an appropriate VISA (for advice contact the Australian Government’s Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs -www.immi.gov.au). Applicants may be required by ETEA to provide additional information or attend a selection interview. A Criminal Records Australian Police Check/Working with children check that has been issued within the past 3 months. ETEA endorses the recommendations included in the immunisation guidelines for Health Care Workers (Department of Human Services 1998). It is a requirement that you have documented evidence of inoculation and immunisation against, vaccine preventable diseases including: Measles, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Pertussis, Diphtheria, Tuberculosis, Mumps, Tetanus Tux, Varicella, Polio As of Monday 19th September 2011, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia has applied a revised registration standard on English language skills.
